The Over Players

Welcome to The Over Players web site, an amateur dramatics group based in the village of Over in Cambridgeshire - United Kingdom.

We have been presenting shows in the village since 1984.  Originally these shows were staged in the Church Hall but since June 1999 we have moved to the Over Centre.  The Centre is a village facility part funded by the Millennium Fund.

2009 sees the Players celebrate their 25th anniversary.  To mark the occasion they are presenting the well known musical "Hello Dolly!", written by Jerry Herman.  Show dates will be 3rd to 6th June 2009.

"Hello Dolly!" tells the story of Dolly Levi, the well known matchmaker, attempting to find herself a husband in the wealthy Horace Vandergelder. Along the way she also attempts to match together six other people.  In the end, after a ruckus at an upscale restaurant and a court case, Dolly convinces Vandergelder to marry her and all is well.   Full details of the show, along with a  synopsis of the "Hello Dolly" can be found by clicking here.
